On the occasion of the 16th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia the Concilio Europeo dell’Arte presents in his historic seat InParadiso Art Gallery the project “Borghi of Italy – #NO(F)EARTHQUAKE” dedicated to the “sustainable revitalization” of the Italian villages – Borghi.

The exhibition is focused on the management of seismic risk, on “keeping safe” the territories and its main objective is to raise public awareness about the theme of prevention of the villages in Italy, a monumental and historic patrimony. Furthermore, the project is also about the great theme of “resilience” of these Italian villages. The Concilio Europeo dell’Arte presents “BorgoAlive!“, an original initiative which collects and shows to the public the Best Practices to activate the concept of sustainable revitalization and it artistically translate with Marco Guglielmi the theme faced by the project “Borghi of Italy” with a site-specific artwork in the exhibition spaces.

To complete the exhibition the Concilio Europeo dell’Arte organizes for the months of September, October and November a cycle of 6 days of conferences, symposia, meetings and public debates about the five Italian Borghi presented as case histories in the project. Five of these days are dedicated to the Borghi of Venzone (UD), San Felice Sul Panaro (MO), Auletta (SA), Amatrice (RI) and Civita di Bagnoregio (VT), analyzing the most technical and scientific aspects of the reconstruction and the safety of these villages.

Finally, one day will be dedicated to the re-activation of every Italian Borghi, which are often affected by the phenomena of abandonment and demographic decline: for that reason there will be our sponsor Fondazione Cariplo, which project “Attiv-aree” is dedicated to the new life of the “internal areas” and the Concilio Europeo will explain “BorgoAlive!”, the initiative that is already present in the exhibition spaces.
