The eighth edition of the Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival has taken place from the 21st to the 24th March 2018: this is the first film festival managed by university students, under the artistic and overall direction of Maria Roberta Novielli.
Only 30 shorts out of 2500 have passed the selection, coming from 26 different countries. Despite the different origins, the same theme emerges violently: the most intense and artistically dramatic relationship ever, the one between mother and son.
The exceptional jury of this year, composed by the italian cineasta Roberta Torre, the japanese director Hiroki Hayashi and the the cinematographic and theatrical director Marcin Bortkiewicz, has awarded Mama (Mother) by Abduazim Ilkhomjonov e Botir Abdurakhmonov from Uzbekistan as best short film of the Festival.
